Brave the Dark does deliver an engaging and enjoyable narrative, with excellent performances, an intriguing and compelling plot, and an important message worth listening to.

It's comforting when a film comes along that manages to remind you in a foundational way that truly noble people do exist.

Jared Harris delivers a compelling and praised performance as Stan Deen, which is a significant highlight of the film. Despite touching on difficult themes, the film ultimately offers a heartwarming and uplifting experience that emphasizes the power of human connection and mentorship.

Jared Harris is terrific as a kindhearted soul, occasionally with an amusing dry sense of humor. Whenever they are interacting with one another, the film feels grounded and human.

Co-leads Jared Harris and Nicholas Hamilton bring out the affecting best in each other in a low-key indie about a high school teacher's efforts to help a troubled teen transcend traumatic experiences.

Grounded by Jared Harris' dignified performance, Brave the Dark tells an inspirational true story with familiar beats but commendable integrity.

The acting was spot on and the actors (particularly Hamilton and Jared Harris) made the characters grounded and believable. The character growth felt nice and realistic enough.

Wonderful film with a fine script and terrific acting. The lead actor is great in this role as the supportive and optimistic foil for the boy in need. The boy who shares a dark secret is effective and believable as a tortured soul who needs a break. That it's a true story makes it all the more powerful.

The Harris brothers came with the heat on this film. And Nicholas Hamilton does an incredible job matching Jared Harris' energy. Love every second we get of them together on screen. This film is a testament to the fact that you never know how deeply you can alter the course of someone's life by showing up. If you want to feel uplifted this New Year 2025, go see Brave the Dark!
